Tartarian maples are similar to trident maple in leave shape and growing stature.
They're pretty flexible so wiring and bending is pretty simple.
It's leaves are nice and small which is very desirable and they will reduce well with future partial leaf pruning techniques. 
They have proved to be hardy and tough here in Devon with far less wind burn on new growth than you get on trident and palmatum maples.
