An extremely rare piece of Sekka Hinoki material for making a great shohin or mame sized tree.
This little cracker is on its way to being a nice multi-trunk style or remove some trunks and make a single trunk with a large nebari.
A really good wide nebari and lots of choices all round for trunks and branches make this a special little tree.
This tree will only get better over the next few years.
The Sekka is the smallest of the hinoki cypresses and has become very sought after.
These evergreen dwarf type Hinoki cypress has bright green foliage, arranged in whorls along the branches, and attractive, fissured, reddish -brown bark when older.Native to Japan it is normally hardy in temperate areas, although plants may need some protection in a frost-free shed or greenhouse if winter temperatures fall below -5°C. Hinoki Cypress will happily survive in full sun throughout the growing season. Water regularly from spring to early autumn and occasionally during dry spells in the winter so that the soil remains moist.
