Here is a Saotome that is a bit taller than usual. A lot of the branches have been chosen and now it wants finishing in its new home.
A nice small leaved satsuki variety, renowned for being difficult to get to flower. They do make a great small leaved bonsai to add to your collection and grow on yourself.
I have been using a new soil mixture of
3 parts graded pine bark
1 part kanuma
1 part perlite
1 part pumice.
The results have been excellent and I recommend using it for growing the young plants on.
