A volcanic growing medium used in Japan similar to Kanuma but harder and contains grit. It does not retain as much water as kanuma.
Used for growing coniferous species.
Best if mixed with other soil ingredients such as akadama.
pH is ±5.5 so acid loving ericaceous plants do well.
