They are a great start for a Japanese red pine bonsai project. The hard work has been done.
They are ready for growing on for another season or two to fatten them up. You don't need to prune anything yet, just fertilise well and allow them to grow freely to thicken the trunk.
From there its up to you how big you let them get.
With its distinctive asymmetrical shape, dark green needles, and attractive bark, this pre-bonsai is sure to be a showstopper in any bonsai collection.

The Japanese Red Pine is a classic outdoor, evergreen species to use for Bonsai. They have an upright habit, dark green needles in pairs and dark, fissured bark that gives the trunks an impressive rugged appearance.
They are double flush in growth habit so good branch development is fairly quick. Hardy in most areas. During the growing season place in full sun. They dislike constant moisture so be careful not to over water and ensure a good free draining soil. (1:1:1 Akadama:Pumice:Grit).
