Plaited Japanese Flowering Quince
(Chaenomeles japonica)
Dob - 2022
Height - ±15cm
Origin - UK
Pot - Superior plastic training pot.
I have made these in order to give examples of what can be achieved in a relatively short time.
The trunk will be fairly flexible for a year or more so if you want to reshape it that won't be difficult.
Several individual plants (2-5 or more) that have been carefully plaited together. As they grow they will fuse together giving a great effect of texture and age on the trunk in a relatively short time.
Flowering Quince - Chaenomeles japonica
Chaenomeles are deciduous, usually spiny shrubs with simple leaves and clusters of cup-shaped red-orange, pink or white, 5-petalled flowers, solitary or clustered, in spring, followed by edible often fragrant green or yellow fruits. The flowers can attract birds, bees and butterflies. After spring blossoming is over you can prune the shoots and remove and dead branches.Never allow to dry out completely.
