I have made a few of these Japanese maples with some extra curvy trunks in order to air layer several good trees from each one..
Grown from seed in 2020 and ground grown until 2023.
The hard bit of bending the trunk is done and now its time to grow them on and start to develop branches and thickness in the trunk.
Some rootwork and arrangment of the nebari has been done but of course it will need to be continued.
They are in small training pots to facilitate potting them into slightly bigger pots for their immediate future developing.
 
Now it's up to you how these will progress.
