Material like this is hard to find at the best of times.
With its powerful trunk this was the apex on a much older tree of about 30 years, that has been restyled.
The material shows good promise to becoming a very nice shohin specimen of Zelkova. It has a good nebari and has been growing well so it should fill in quite quickly. The wounds have healed really well and there is the option for developing a hollow trunk.
 
With a little more development it will be ready to put into a bonsai dish.
