A good starter for a rare, Japanese flowering quince. Some preliminary wiring has been done and bends applied to the trunk options.

It will get better and better as time goes on and it develops more branches.

Chaenomeles are deciduous, usually spiny shrubs with simple leaves and clusters of spectacular, cup-shaped, crimson, 5-petalled flowers with and golden anthers solitary or clustered, in spring, followed by edible often fragrant green or yellow fruits. The flowers can attract birds, bees and butterflies. After spring blossoming is over you can prune the shoots and remove any dead branches.Never allow to dry out completely.
