This beautiful stone is an extremely rare stone from the UK. Devon green marble as it is called is about as rare as it gets when it comes to rare stone in the UK.
Over my 35 years of collecting suiseki I have only ever found three pieces of this incredible stone. It feels lovely to touch and hold in the hand.
The daiza has been carved from a reclaimed piece of antique mahogany that was over 200 years old.
There was only ever one quarry and from that there are only a handful of examples of this stone being used in architexture such as the Natural History Museum in London.
