This tree is full of character and lots of curves to make an interesting bonsai.
It can be grown in a number of styles from informal to literati.
They can be allowed to grow freely without pruning to thicken the trunk or with pruning the lower parts will bud new branches to open up lots of styling possibilities.
These are very popular for making good shohin and mame sized bonsai. Bird and Bee friendly. Very easy to grow and train.
 
With small glossy green leaves with many pink-tinged white flowers followed by round red fruits.
The flowers are attractive to bees and berries are edible for birds.
