Excellent material to get started with. This elm was air layered from 20 year old branches from a tree that was over 40 years old.
The Cork Bark elm is a cultivar of the familiar Chinese elm with one difference...the rough and aged bark. They are fully hardy and frost tolerant to minus 5 C. They are very easy to keep and train as bonsai. Feed well, prune regularly and re-pot into our Deciduous Mix every three to four years.. Keep well watered in summer. Very good autumn colour that can include yellows, browns and reds at once.
