AUTUMN SALE ON NOW. ends 31st October 2024
As you may have noticed, there is a new tool manufacturer based in China that is making a good impression on the world of bonsai.
I was a bit doubtful at first and was under the misguided belief thay Ryuga tools had the market sown up with their range of tools that have, until now, been the best that were coming out of China.
How wrong I was!
TIAN make four different grades of tools. Each is stamped with its own series mark.
They are;-
Standard Series

HRC - 50
Professional Series
4Cr13MoV Stainless Steel.
HRC - 55
1 Year manufacturers warranty.
Comes in a tool cover that you can wear on a belt.
Master Series - Stronger and harder than the Pro series.
5Cr15Mov Stainless Steel.
HRC - 58

Master Craftsman Series - Made of thicker gauge steel, much harder and much stronger than the pro series.

After testing a wide range of Tian tools, I can confidently state that I believe they surpass other available brands by a significant margin. I can see why they are confident enough to offer the manufacturers warranty.

In my experience, I have noticed a wide range of inexpensive bonsai tools being sold at affordable prices, depending on the source. However, I have personally encountered challenges in selling them. It is clear that there is a demand for superior quality tools.
These affordable tools are suitable for beginners in bonsai to begin with and familiarize themselves with the different functions of cutters and scissors of various shapes and sizes.
As the novice improves over time, there reaches a point where inexpensive options are no longer sufficient, and there is a desire for upgrades.
Up to this point, the market for premium tools has been dominated by costly manufacturers like Masakuni. Their prices can be extremely high, making them unaffordable for many. These tools are designed for specific functions and stress limits. Exceeding these limits can result in a costly broken tool that may be irreparable.
There exists a demand for superior quality products that are affordable.
This is where Tian seems to have aimed itself.
Once more, the various grades of stainless steel are designed to meet the needs of different levels of enthusiasts.
Their tools are all completed to a high and uniform standard, ensuring that you can trust their performance across various situations.
